In the traditional paper industry, the batch cooking process and equipment is usually used. A quantity of water is added to the cooking kettle to make a complete paste, cooling water is added to dilute the paste, it is cooled to the proper temperature, and the material is placed into a storage tank for later use.
The advantages of intermittent cooking equipment are simple process, flexible operation, and most of the old production lines in China are still in use. The disadvantages are high steam consumption, high work intensity, the need for workers to complete 11-12 pots per shift, low output, and unstable product quality, which are not suitable for high-speed large paper machine production lines.
